The mission of the church in the District is to live out God's love by being committed to:
Learning more of and sharing the good news embodied in Jesus Christ
Caring for one another, the society and environment in which we live
Encouraging others' committment to Christ
Working for a world of justice and peace
Deepening our relationships with the World Church and with ecumenical partners.
In fulfilling this mission we will-
a) offer pastoral care and personal support to Ministers, members of the Diaconal Order and Lay Workers;
b) encourage and enable the mutual support of circuits, local churches, their officers, members and our ecumenical partners as they share their gifts and graces in God's mission in their communities;
c) keep before Circuits and local churches the need for awareness of and action on issues of justice, peace,and the environment and ethical concerns;
d) provide appropriate training for officers and members;
e) manage material resources owned by the District;
f) undertake large initiatives throughtout the Distict;
g) act as a focus in providing spokespeople to the media,etc;
h) ensure that legal obligations and Connexional requirements are fulfilled.
